March Challenge: Food

Welcome to the third monthly challenge at pd_playtime! This month's challenge will run from 1 4 March 2008 to 31 March 2008, so you'll have even more time than you did in February, and maybe one day we'll be able to post challenges on the first of the month like we always plan to. Anyway.

Please have fun with these prompts; as long as you follow our guidelines (listed at the bottom of this post), the sky's the limit! Members of the community can post their challenge entries directly here; non-members should post their entries in their own journals (or fic journals, or what have you) and link them to us in the comments of this post. At the end of the challenge, we'll post a masterlist of all submitted entries to the community.

As we've said before, pd_playtime is invite-only -- but these challenges will help us find new, exciting authors to invite!

Challenge Three:

One of the most sensual things about Pushing Daisies is its focus on food -- Ned rolling out floury dough, Olive serving potent espresso, Chuck grating tangy gruyère cheese, and Emerson unabashedly licking plum filling. This March it's time for you to find your own creative uses for food.

Try to stray from including these ingredients merely as pie fillings or pie accompaniments; sure, the Pie Hole is a de facto place of employment for our heroes, but let's see them enjoying food on their own time, with a menu that might vary at any moment!

Not sure I'm doing this right. My story is on my LJ account, here (http://neotantrika.livejournal.com/13557.html). It's friends-locked. Is this the right way to do this? I don't generally like to post my stories where I don't control them.

It's totally fine to post a link to the story's post in your fic or regular journal -- fireworkfiasco and I do that all the time. We just want pd_playtime to be a gathering place where these stories can easily be found, read, inspired, and enjoyed.

Also, I believe a lot of people are flocking adult-rated fiction these days, so that's not a problem either. We'll just make a note of that on the masterlist or something.

I think it would be easier on everyone if I just unlocked the post. It's still adult-only, so you have to assure LJ you're over 18 to read it, but it's more accessible than flocked.
